Large Early French Enamel Advertising Thermometer
Price

£495.00

A very special & large French enamel advertising thermometer for the famous chocloate maker Revillon founded in Lyoin in 1898. Created by 4 chocolatiers Claudius Pelen, Jean Francois Thomas, Antoine Larrive & Louis Revillon as a luxury brand, which still exists today. This thermometer is still functional and appears to measure the temperature accurately. Some very interesting french references on the scale to certain temperatures, Cham. Malade (Sick Room) 20 degrees, Vin Gele (Frozen Wine) -5 degrees, Paris 1871 -20 degrees, Chal Humaine (Human Body Temperature) 37 degrees, Essaim Abeilles (Bee Swarm) 35 degrees. In nice original condition with just the right amount of wear over its history, small enamel losses top & bottom by mounting points. Great piece of wall art for the kitchen, bar, restaurant. Size 95cm (h) by 19cm (w).
